The Whiskey Club is a personal collection catalog for whiskey and other spirits. This policy explains what data the app handles and, just as importantly, what it doesn't.
The Whiskey Club does not require you to create an account or sign in. There is no user registration, no login, and no cloud service operated by us.
Everything you enter into The Whiskey Club (bottle names, brands, ratings, tasting notes, photos, and barcodes) is stored locally on your device only, in a local database and local photo storage. We do not receive, see, or store a copy of this information anywhere. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it, unless you've exported a backup yourself (see below).
The Whiskey Club lets you export a backup file of your collection (including photos) so you can save it wherever you choose: Files, email, AirDrop, a cloud drive, and so on. That file is created and shared entirely through your device's own share sheet; we never see or receive it. The same applies to the CSV spreadsheet export.
When you scan a barcode, The Whiskey Club sends the scanned barcode number (and only the number, no other information about you or your device) to a third-party product lookup service to try to auto-fill a product name and brand. If no match is found, or the request fails, you simply enter the details manually. This is the only network request The Whiskey Club makes on your behalf.
The Whiskey Club does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking software of any kind. We do not collect usage data, device identifiers, or location information.
The Whiskey Club is a catalog for alcoholic beverages and is intended for adults of legal drinking age. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
If this policy changes, an updated version will be posted at this same address with a revised date above.
